Throughout my years of doing hair one of the most common issues my clients have struggled with is managing an oily scalp with dry dehydrated ends. What often happens and this makes the issue worse instead of being a remedy, is shampooing daily with cleansers that tend to be too clarifying and making the ends become even more unmanageable and dehydrated.

Shu Uemura has just launched “Cleansing Oil Shampoo” an oil based shampoo that has been working out to be a great solution. How this works is the oil base of the shampoo actually attracts the oil from your scalp to help rebalance and give a thorough cleanse without stripping all the essential oils that you need to help keep your hair soft, supple and voluminous.

It still is important to treat dry and dehydrated ends separately. The ends need to be protected from heat such as blow-dryers, irons and everyday environmental hazards like UV rays. One of my favorite products that should be essential for almost every client with mid-length hair and longer and any type of chemically treated hair is the “Essenence Absolue” also from Shu Uemura. This multiuse elixir is for all hair types. Not only does it smooth and soften the ends it also nourishes, moisturizes and has UV protection while giving a high gloss weightless shine.

Don’t you hate what this dry cold weather does to your hair? Well, Kerastase just launched this fabulous new product that will put an end to dull, fly away hair! Fibre Architecte when layered with one of the “Thermique” products or Shu Uemuras “Essence Absolue” (which happens to be my favorite) actually mends split ends and will make your hair look seamless.

1. Loose french braid- A modern twist to the classic style we all know. Messy is in!! So dont ’t waste time trying to spray down fly aways or making the braid tight– instead loosly braid your hair & pull down a few small pieces from around your hairline to complete the look.

2.Loose Bun- Pull your hair back in a loose ponytail wherever you want your bun to lay. Twist your hair around the rubberband and bobbypin the bun to secure it.(Try our Shu Uemura Sheer Lacquer for a strong hold)

3.Loose beachy waves- Use a 1 1/4 inch curling iron. Take a medium sized section and wrap it around the iron. When the whole head is curled, use a dime sized amount of a smoothing lotion (Try our Kerastase Sublimateur Jour). Run your fingers through your hair to lossen the curls, then flip your head over and use our Bumble & Bumble Does It All hairspray to finish.
